Saturdays are a great day to explore the city. With all the new holiday events beginning this weekend, here are our top seven things to do in the city today!
NYBG Holiday Train Show opens this weekend! Our favorite part about traveling to this enchanted location in the Bronx is the trip on the Metro North. This season the Holiday Train Show is bigger than ever! Visit their website for all times and pricing.
Kids Art-Making with CMA at Union Square Holiday Market is happening this weekend from 11 am to 7 pm. Check out the hands-on art-making workshops with CMA Teaching Artists! Projects might include wrapping paper decoration, holiday ornaments, paper snow globes, pop-up cards, and more.
The Hip Hop Nutcracker combines Tchaikovsky’s music, hip hop dance and NYC style into a fun outing for the whole family! This new twist of a loved classic is definitely bound to make the kids get up and dance! This event is TODAY ONLY at 2pm at The United Palace of Cultural Arts.
The Three Bears Holiday Bash is now showing at the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre in Central Park. CHildren and parents alike will enjoy this comedy-of-errors type show and sing-a-long, where Baby Bear invites Santa to join in on their family holiday fun! Show times on weekends are at 2pm.
Putting It Together at MOMA is a fun way to explore the art of making with your child. With two different classes (based on child’s age), you can assemble creations together. RSVP is required for this event. Classes are Saturdays and Sundays on selected weekends beginning at 10:30 am.
Character Visits at Strand Bookstore offers a great twist on storytime in the city! This week’s guest is Madeline! (Also, parents, BJ Novak is doing a signing at the store for his children’s book The Book with No Pictures today at 2pm!)
Winter Village at Bryant Park offers a day of fun with shopping, hot cocoa, and skating for all ages! One of NYC’s favorite holiday adventures, make sure you bring your camera!
We hope we were able to help make your weekend even more adventurous!
Have a great Saturday in the city!
