Saturday in the City: Dec 12 (and 13!)

It is that time of the week again, when we begin to clock out of our jobs and check in to weekend mode! However, if you are like me, weekends around the holidays can become to get just as stressful. It is a fun stress, though, jumping from holiday celebrations, shopping, wrapping, baking, and drinking! Every moment is filled with something to do. And if you’re also like me and have not started your holiday shopping, fear not! I have compiled a list of the best places to get all your gift-getting done while supporting all your favorite local businesses!

UNION SQUARE MARKET

This market is easily one of my favorites since moving to NYC. It is also one of my favorites for taking Union Square Holiday Marketmy son shopping with me. The food vendors each year are amazing. Check out Doughnuttery for small tasty treats for your child to munch while walking around the market. Also, another amazing thing for your child to check out is the Children’s Museum of the Arts Art Making Station! For a small $5 donation your child can take a break from the bustle of buying and make a gift for someone special!

This market is filled with many more great vendors and items for pretty much anyone in your life! One stop shop!

Columbus Circle Holiday MarketCOLUMBUS CIRCLE HOLIDAY MARKET

Can’t make it all the way down to 14th Street? Check out the one of the other markets put on by UrbanSpace at Columbus Circle. Here you will find vendors like Lil New Yorker, a group of local artists specializing in products for children and babies. There are many other vendors as well to help you check off your holiday list!

GRAND CENTRAL HOLIDAY FAIRGrand Central Holiday Market

Another favorite to bring my son, Grand Central offers the ideal atmosphere for the holidays in NYC. With almost 75 different local artists, you will likely find gifts for everyone on your list. One of my favorite things to check out while at this market is checking out what is new at the New York Transit Museum Store. If your child is anything like my cityboy, he/she will enjoy the magical holiday train displays and toys.

I know I keep saying that each of these places are my favorites, but it is so true! And when I think about Bryant Park Winter Village, I think the same thing – This is my favorite! Even if you have finished your shopping, Bryant Park is one holiday must! From delicious hot cocoa at Max Brenner Chocolate Bar to skating at The Rink, this market offers so much more than just a place to shop! Not to mention, snap some holiday photos by the big, beautiful tree!

Not heading to Manhattan this weekend? Check out these best of the boroughs!

Brooklyn: Artists and FleasArtists and Fleas WIlliamsburg

This market highlights the amazing talent that is homegrown here in NYC. Resident artists, along with pop-ups, open their businesses each weekend in this trendy Williamsburg location. There is also a resident DJ to mix for you while you shop! You can find great gifts like “POW!” cuff links from Snash Jewelry for any superhero in your life! Also, The Owl Workshop has great items for your little ones, and even fur babies! This Saturday, Dec 12th from 5-7pm, check out the Artists & Fleas Sip and Shop Event!

Astoria Holiday MarketQueens: Astoria Market at Bohemian Beer Garden

Talking about sipping and shopping, this pop-up market is located at the loved Bohemian Beer Garden in Astoria. Artist from all over NYC have tables for all your gifting needs. Last week, I went to this event and purchased an adorable monster from Lyla Tov Monsters and the coolest earrings from Sunny Day Print Co. There are so many more local vendors to check out at this fair.
