English sorrel green smoothie!
You probably want to ask: what’s sorrel?
Juicy and tart green leaves, that are used all over Europe.
Sorrel provides significant amounts of fiber, very few calories, almost no fat, and a small amount of protein. It is rich in vitamin C and also contains vitamin A, vitamin B-6, iron, magnesium, potassium, and calcium, polyphenolic acids, flavonoids, and anthocyanins.
It’s not very common in USA. However, I managed to find it on the market. I was very surprised. But the guy, who sold me 3 bunches of sorrel was surprised even more. That was all he had. 3 bunches. He kept on asking me if I really know what to do with it.
So here we go: incredibly good english sorrel green smoothie!
Unlike kale and spinach, sorrel actually tastes quite yummy raw by itself. So all we do is add some goodness and nutrition.
– 1 bunch sorrel
